After attending and filming J Records recording artist WISH’s listening party in NYC, I had the opportunity to speak with the Party girls themselves. Coco & Breezy Dotson, whom recently appeared in Beyonce’s latest music video “Party” which also features J. Cole and other celebrity cameo’s, took the time out of their busy schedule to provide us with a rare exclusive interview.

RB: Ok, now this is gonna seem pretty quirky, but I’m sure alot of people ask… how can we tell you two apart?
CB: Well, we have different personalities. But for the most part we look exactly alike, we have the same piercings and tattoos. So, I guess its safe to say, just guess which is which. If we told you, it would take the
fun out of it.

RB: Lol, and what age did you ladies first notice that you were the stand out girls
in Minnesota?
CB: As young as I can remember. We had amazing parents that allowed us to
express ourself at a young age. They didn’t put us in a box, which had us
stand out girls in Minnesota. Our mom loved fashion and dressing up, and
so as kids we would always be super fashionable and dressed up. I am very
thankful for our parents. We weren’t like the other kids, and wasn’t
afraid to be our self.

RB: How does your family feel about the move to NYC?
CB: Our family is proud!!!!! They always believed in us, and told us to go
for our dreams. They never not 1 time tried to pull us back, they are very
supportive of our dreams and aspirations. Ofcourse our parents were a bit
worried in the start, but once we proved to them that we could handle it,
the got more comfortable with our NYC stay. We just want to make our
family proud!

RB: Being naturally creative, who or what do you feel inspires you the
most as a designer?
CB: We get most inspired by peoples journeys of success. We love to know
how people started their buisness, it is most inspiring to us. We also
take our everyday life, and create for inspiration. We stay away from
fashion blogs, and magazine, because we don’t want to have our imagination
blocked with other things going on. We aren’t afraid to take risk, and use
100% of our imagination.

RB: Tell our readers about a rough time you encountered, and what you done
to get out of it.
CB: I mean, when we made that move from Minnesota to NYC at 19 years old by
ourself. We didn’t have much and didn’t even save much money. When we got
to NYC, we didn’t have a set spot to stay. We had soo much ambition, and
faith. It was a struggle at first, but We are big believers that
everything happens for a reason. You wouldn’t be successful, if you never
been through a struggle. You ask, what would we have done to get out of
it…the answer is nothing. I am happy we went through the struggle in the
start, it was a learning process and made us stronger and the people and
brand we are today.

RB: What did you learn from it?
CB:Always keep faith, and ambition. When things are working as planned,
never give up and keep on striving! Always remain hungry and never feel to
comfortable to want more!

RB: Which one of you is the best cook and What are some things you like to
eat?
CB: I think its pretty equal. Coco is a bit more creative when making a
meal. We loveeee to eat. We are Pescatarians, which means the only meat we
eat is fish. We love sushi, shrimp, etc. We are big on sweets and love
cookies and brownies sometimes. We are very healthy eaters, so we don’t
really eat fast food ever, we enjoy cooking at home. We are into spinich,
whole grains, fruits and veggies!!

RB: You two work ALOT, from covers to music video to traveling non-stop.
Besides fans and supporters, What fuels your daily motivation?
CB: Eachother! We really do motivate eachother a lot. There may be times
when one of us may feel down, and the other puts some gas and energy of
excitment in the other twin. Even knowing we are making a difference in
the world, and we are the leaders of our new generation keeps us pushing.
Thats a big job to have, and we don’t want to let anyone down.

RB: Outside of america, where are 5 places you two would love to visit,
and why?
CB: Space, Japan, Italy, Africa, Australia. We would love to visit those
places to grab more inspiration. They all have amazing culture, and its
awesome to be in a place that is outside of your normal element for
inspiration.

RB: Do you two have any love interest, or have in the recent past?
CB: Oh man… lol this question. We are busy ladies, but if a guy can
understand our busy schedules then we can possibly work something
out..lol. If any of us do get a “love” interest, it has to be someone that
we can be Power Couples!

RB: Which designer do you see yourself collaborating with in the near future?
CB: I can totally see us collabing with designers like Marc jacobs, Karl
Lagerfeld, converse, and thats only to names a few. I think, right now in
our generation and market, it is very important for the older brands to
co-brand and collab with the younger brands. Its epic!

RB: Culturally, which country do you feel prevails in creativity besides
america?
CB: PARIS!!!!

RB: Which one of you are the biggest critic or your designs?
CB: Coco! She is the perfectionist out of the 2 of us!

RB: What do you think about when you get dressed, and do you think your
edgy still will ever go
plain jane?
CB: I mean, we don’t think about much honestly. We don’t spend a lot of
time getting dressed, because we are entrepreneurs and we have to always be
up and ready incase of a last minute meeting. We love wearing black and
layers in the fall. I guess it can depend on my mood to what my outfit
looks like after getting dressed. For the most part we just throw things
on, and wear our hair however we woke to it as. lol.

RB: If you could change the world with one statement, what would it be?
CB: “The crazy people that say they can change the world, are the ones
that do it!” – We are two of them!

RB: What Makes You Brave, Coco? What Makes You Brave, Breezy?
CB: “What makes me brave is taking risk with my art and designs.”-Coco

“What makes me brave is being myself, and making mistakes and
fixing them.” -Breezy
